Peru's National
Institute for the Defense of Competition and the Protection of
Intellectual Property (INDECOPI) is pleased to announce, to the
domestic and international community, the publication of the first
issue of the Journal of Competition and Intellectual Property.
The Journal
is aimed at encouraging the discussion and exchange of ideas and
knowledge regarding issues that affect the access of agents to markets,
and the development of innovation and intellectual property. Even
though emphasis will be given to economic and legal analysis, the Journal
will also welcome contributions from other perspectives, such as
social sciences and business administration.
The Journal
seeks to foster the analysis of competition theory and intellectual
property issues, the dissemination of case studies, and the proposal
of policy recommendations that are intended to enhance legal and
institutional frameworks, as well as the performance of economic
agents. From a geographical scope, the Journal
will provide a global vision, emphasizing regional and national
aspects, as well as the typical features of Peruvian reality.
This Journal
is intended to meet the requirements of analysis and information of
those interested in understanding the phenomena of competition in
specific markets and the development of intellectual property, namely
academicians, governmental authorities and policy makers, on the one
hand, and on the other, entrepreneurs, consumers and university
students in Economics, Law, and Engineering, among others.
Hence, the Journal will
encourage the contribution of papers and research studies with a wide
range of approaches, becoming an open forum of discussion for our
readers and the community.
